|The roles of glycans have been elucidated, but now their functions are attracting attention. To elucidate glycan recognition mechanisms and functions, we first need to understand glycan complexes . There has recently been strong interest in the use of saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR to study glycan interactions. In response, we have developed a carbohydrate interaction database called Carint. Carint stores literature relevant to carbohydrate interactions as determined by STD-NMR or other NMR methods. Carint is an interactive site that supplies data on measurement conditions for NMR experiments on carbohydrates, as well as bibliographic information.
